Chemicals and Process for emulsion

For this experiment I shall be making my own gelatin based film emulsion to place back onto the film stock once it has been stripped of the image. In order for me to do this I will need to create two chemical solutions in the process.

Solution A – This is made up from 10g of Gelatin plain and unflavoured [you can get this from most supermarkets and will cost about £1]. 8g of Potassium Bromide, this you can get from eBay or many photographic processing websites this will cost around £4 for 50g. You will also need Distilled Water 62.5ml, This can be picked up from Wiko and will cost around £1 per litre.

Solution B – Silver Nitrate 10g, this can also be found via ebay and will cost around £10 for the 10g required. Once again you will need Distilled water for this solution so mane sure you pick up double the measure.

This will create a photosensitive solution when mixed so make sure you keep the two solutions separate.
